This antique runner has a small repeat design, which has subtle variability. There are slight losses at each end to the outer guard border - both are now secured. The side selvedges have also been strengthened with overcasting. Losses to the black colour, in partial relief is due to the presence of ferrous material in the dye stuff and is something that has occurred naturally in its history, only enhancing the good patina of this antique runner.
